Field Notes

Description:

Flowers are single at the top of the stem, 2 to 3 inches across with about 8 yellow petals that are toothed at the top. The center disk is yellow with many tiny, 5-petaled flowers. This plant has a height of 18 to 36 inches.

Habitat:

Spotted at Tamarac near the Visitor Center. It grows in sun, moist to dry sandy soil, prairies, roadsides, woodland edges.

Notes:

This plant is also known as Lanceleaf Coreopsis.
