Yes, apparently Etlingera elatior is the main name, but Alpinia elatior, Alpinia magnifica, Amomum magnificum, Elettaria speciosa, Nicolaia elatior, Phaeomeria magnifica, and Phaeomeria speciosa are all accepted synonyms. See http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/taxon.pl?409477 for more info.
Really? I am glad since I did ID some of them as Etlingera elatior. But I am wondering about the complete different names, even the species name is different.
Does anybody know the difference between Phaedomeria magnifica and Etlingera elatior??
