Description:

Partial skull with large incisors and tufts of gray fur found in lawn in area with lots of nut trees (but not forest) in Northern California. About 1.5-2 inches front to back.

Habitat:

Lawn at rural/urban edge near scattered trees and nut groves.

Neat find! This looks like a pocket gopher skull to me and I also think all of the gray matted fur indicates that this skull was part of an owl pellet. Very cool.
