Description:
This striking plant was flowering all along the dirt road into the ravine, above the river. It has leaves like a succulent. It is also called the Mexican Love Plant and the Mother-in-Law Plant among many others. I like Cathedral Bells best.
Habitat:
River Ravine of the Corazon del Fortin, Fortin de Las Flores, Veracruz, Mexico.
Notes:
This is a succulent of the Family Crassulaceae. The species of Kalanchoe are native plants of Africa and especially Madagascar, and many now have an almost worldwide distribution where growing conditions are adequate. It has many medicinal uses. See the reference links.
