Field Notes

Description:

Males are bright orange, females are duller with more black markings. Adult Julias trap-line, visiting a circuit of specific plants daily on which they forage.

Habitat:

Southern Florida, Texas south to Brazil. Subtropical hammock edges & fields. Host Plant: Passion-vines including Passiflora lutea.
