Field Notes

Description:

This is the common shrub, not the double. The pure white flowers of Bridal Wreath Spirea are born in long sprays that can be fashioned into wreaths and worn on the head for a special occasion, hence the name.

Habitat:

Wildlife habitat garden. This was planted for its early blooms.

Notes:

The double bloom of Spiraea cantoniensis 'Lanceata'
