Field Notes

Description:

Clusters of tiny, bright magenta flowers cover the branches of this compact redbud in early spring. The heat-resistant, heart-shaped foliage emerges after the blooms are spent. Even after the leaves drop, the attractive habit adds winter interest. Sterile variety won’t scatter seeds across the landscape.

Habitat:

Grounds of water reclamation plant.
