Description:

Red alga whose thallus is composed of fine filaments, gray rose jointed, brittle ends ends , a top ten centimeters.

Each filament consists of a row of cells surrounded by axial place to place, at the nodes, of smaller cells (cortication) and a crown of thorns, the internodes are colorless.

Habitat:

Algae inhabiting rocks and bottoms of lower mediolittoral in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
It is also often attached to other algae.
