Description:

It is a beautiful songbird that is distinguished by its black plumage on the head, part of the chest and wings; the rest of the body is earthy yellow, almost orange. A fine white line can be seen on its wings.

Habitat:

Found in dry woodlands, open areas with scattered trees, and arid scrublands.

Notes:

The Turpial is the national bird of Venezuela.
