Field Notes

Description:

Large yellow aphids, mostly nymphs (I only observed two adults). I think the translucent, slug-like animals are syrphid larvae. I saw a milkweed assassin bug hanging around, and the next day they were all dead with nothing but empty exoskeletons left behind.

Habitat:

Milkweed plant in a suburban yard

Hi! Nice Spotting! it looks to me as an oleander aphid, if that plant is a milkweed then it's settled.
