Description:

Hawk of some sort: red tailed?

Notes:

Found this hawk eating a squirrel at a soccer field. I couldn't get a good picture due to facing the sun, but I'd never been so close to a hawk before!

Great spotting! They're amazing animals! I'd love you to add this spotting to the mission Raptors of North America: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8627557
You got it - patterning on the scaps is indicative.
