Description:

Small brown-gray snake with a reddish underbelly.

Habitat:

Eastern worm snakes range from New England to central Georgia and as far west as as the Mississippi River. Prefers to live in forested areas under rotting logs and leaf litter.

Notes:

Spotted while clearing away winter debris.
