Description:

A very dark moth with primitive eye spots! It is sitting next to a bird dropping (not the abdomen). A second specimen of this species was photographed on 28 May 2013 in the same garden. The underwings appear to be grey with a dark edge.

Habitat:

Attracted to the garden lights, semi-urban area on the outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
