Stonefly

A beautiful winged adult female Stonefly. These are very ancient, relatively primitive insects. The naiads (larvae) are aquatic. The females carry about an egg ball of several hundred eggs for several days, depositing eggs in suitable water sources. The cool thing is that this particular female is actually carrying around her ball of eggs, visible on the underside of the body (see the second picture). Order Plecoptera.
