Field Notes

Habitat:

Freshwater habitats usually shallow, slow moving, sheltered waters. This one at a suburban park that has large wooded areas as well as lakes and ponds.

Notes:

I was just trying to take some pictures of the pond and water plants when up pops its long neck (a.k.a. snake bird). It looked around then back down for more dive fishing. (this is either a female or if male, a juvenile).
