Field Notes

Description:

Tiny little Two-marked Treehoppers were found on a bush above a creek. The nymphs are like little white wooly lambs. In the first picture, an adult has just recently emerged from the 5th instar exuvia (the split down the thorax is where the adult emerged). Picture 2 shows the fully darkened adult, picture 3 is a close-up of the larval skin. These are tiny treehoppers of about 4 mm in length.

Habitat:

Within the Town of Xilitla, San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Lovely clear shots Lauren. This one's got a sturdy "horn" too.
