Field Notes

Description:

A small toad with a very squat body that comes to a point at the nose. Their back varies in color but is usually plain, and they have a heavily speckled belly.

Habitat:

Found in the US from Maryland south to Florida, then west to Missouri and Texas. They are often burrowed underground, we found 14 of them under some logs, along with the mud turtle shown in the last photo. After pictures, they were all released back to where we found them at.
