Description:
The name "Corn Snake" is a holdover from the days when southern farmers stored harvested ears of corn in a wood frame or log building called a crib. Rats and mice came to the corn crib to feed on the corn, and corn snakes came to feed on the rodents.
Habitat:
"Corn Snakes" are found throughout the southeastern and central United States.
Notes:
This specimen belongs to a class at my college about "handling snakes". It has albinism. Specimen from "Serpentário de Furnas" ("Serpentarium of Furnas")
In the video I recorded and posted, there is the explanation of the constriction of this snake. Basically, explains how she suffocates its prey and how the digests. In the future, I'll add subtitles in English and Spanish to this video, if interest to someone.
