Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized tree with simple leaves, bottle-brush kind of pale green flowers. Fruit is the rich plum colour of bruises!

Habitat:

Residential colony. Outside a house/on the road.I asked the owner of the house and he told me the name. Haritaki was part of my Grandmother's everyday herbal medicines but I had NEVER seen a Haritaki tree..or to put it more accurately ...actually never met one formally. This Haritaki tree I havepassed almost daily but had been unable to identify.

Notes:

Terminalia chebula is the main ingredient in the three-ingredient Ayurvedic formulation Tri-phala. The dried fruit is also used in Ayurveda.

Perhaps a debut of PN??
