Description:

A rhizomatous iris, forming large carpets. Most leaf clusters do not bloom. Flowers solitary, striking. Upper flower pale, lower parts heavily dotted and much darker.

Habitat:

stony Mediterranean shrubby slopes

Notes:

protected and endangered in Israel
