Field Notes

Description:

This ginger plant is about 3 1/2 feet tall and the leaves have the dimensions of 35cm long and 7cm wide. This plant has no fruit but the roots are edible. These leaves have an entire margin, a parallel leaf shape, and a linear venation. The leaves have an alternate arrangement and a leathery texture.

Habitat:

This plant was found in low to ground in the secondary rainforest of Singapore American School. This plant was found under many other plants and was in a very dense area.

Notes:

This plant in very popular in many asian cuisines.
