Field Notes

Description:

Tiny bird with a black and white head and as the name implies, a chestnut brown back.

Habitat:

I was taking scenery shots of a muskeg (basically a cold-climate bog), and heard some noises from the small tree next to me. This guy was just chirping away at me, and was actually able to get this photo on a wide-angle lens, just tells you how close he was to me! On Mitkof Island in southeastern Alaska
