Hi Gilma Jeannete. Probably the tree on top of the huge boulder is a kind of "higuerón" or fig tree (Ficus sp.). If you have some close-up pics of the leaves I could try to identify. In Costa Rica we have many species of "higuerones" and all of them have evolved to born and grow on top of trees, rocks, buildings, even statues.
Thank you, CindyBinghamKeiser. DanielWhitlock, I will try to find a picture of a tree/plant growing on top of a tree with roots that are 5 or more meters long!
This is a cool spotting! I really like being able to see the roots growth around the rock. It's like we're looking under ground. Thanks for posting!
Thank you, DanielWhitlock. Good eye!! I am going to look carefully next time at that crack, but as you know, here in Costa Rica, plants and trees grows on top and on each other as a normal thing.
That is a pretty epic tree! What a great site to have so close by! Looks like there might be a crack in the boulder, perhaps it just grew up through the rock over time?
