Field Notes

Description:

Large blue-gray wading bird with long legs and a long neck. Black stripe over eyes. Stalks prey in shallow water where it can spear with it's long bill.

Habitat:

Connetquot State Park, NY. Lurking around a fish hatchery (with no fish).
