Field Notes

Description:

This mother anhinga was trying hard to ignore her babies' demands for a meal. One baby appears to be much larger than its nest-mate. The last two photos also show other nearby young anhingas in different growth stages where their down is being replaced by feathers.

Habitat:

Wakodahatchee Wetlands Park, Delray Beach, FL. The park is fifty acres of unused utilities land that have been transformed into a wetlands ecosystem.
