Field Notes

Description:

Red cap = male, Yellowish green with scale-like white patterns on side. Streaks on breast.

Habitat:

We have a few bamboo poles between pairs of which clotheslines are strung on the rooftop terrace. Flowering climbers also use these poles. Ants have colonized the hollow bamboo poles; now I find that woodpeckers have followed the ants.

Notes:

I see this species from time to time and once earlier I was able to get a video: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/2082836002
