Field Notes
Description:
This bug looked very prickly and had a very interesting body structure. At first glance it looked like fluff; however, when you look very closely the white prickles on its body looks like a structure that is used to feel the surrounding. The length was about 5 mml: very small. The bug looks like its walking on those white things sticking out; however, actually, it has legs on the bottom that help it crawl around on leaves with stability. The bug's diet is sucking sap which is a problem to orchards and vineyard.
Habitat:
This bug cannot survive in cold winter, so being in Singapore is a very great habitat for this bug to survive. In the SAS rainforest, this bug is not thriving; however, it is found in some areas of the rainforest. We mostly find it on top of a leaf where it lays undisturbed.
Notes:
The bug's diet is sucking sap which is a problem to orchards and vineyard.
