Field Notes

Description:

Burnt orange barred underparts w/ reddish shoulders. Multiple variations in color for adults and juveniles add to even more confusing variations.

Habitat:

Like forests near water or swampy areas. Outside breeding season it stays out in the open more. This specimen was spotted at a County park sitting initially on a sign at the edge of a lake and then flew into an tree.
