Description:
Large wading bird that uses its beak to filter the water for fish and crustaceans. Overall white with black feathers on wings. Large pink head with black beak in adult. This is a juvenile with pinkish beak that turns black as it matures
Habitat:
Wetlands
Notes:
This juvenile was standing by water's edge and appeared a little lost. Was there for over an hour, no adult in sight. Did not appear sick or injured.
