Field Notes

Description:

A towering tree identifiable by its deeply crevassed bark, deep brown color, and, when in season, the large walnut fruits that fal from its branches. Even without leaves, this tree is unmistakeable purely due to its size and bark.

Habitat:

Central east coast where soil is fertile and deep. Tends to be found in the coasts most temperate areas, and does not blossom out until late slring when all frost is gone from the soil.
