Field Notes

Description:

About 8mm in length, these hoppers had dark wings with two lateral white bands on the wings; the anterior band appeared more opaque. The pronotum and head were brown and mottled. A droplet of honeydew was seen at the rear end of one adult (pic#1).
A couple of adults were seen with numerous nymphs (pic#3) at various stages of development. they were all attended to by ants that were attracted to the honey dew produced by the hoppers.

Habitat:

Eucalyptus tree - Manna Gum (Eucalyptus viminalis)

Notes:

There were at least 5 different stages of nymphs in the one group.
These are from the Tribe: Eurymelini
