Not much, I was at a few meters distance (maybe 2-3 m?) and the flash was able to catch him. I guess I did set the camera for night portrait. I have a Olympus Stylus SP 100EE and a SP 820 UZ. I made the pic with one of the two, I don´t remember which one. In other words I did not use any fancy equipment :-)
Wonderful spotting Marta! This little Kingfisher has such a gorgeous blue colour, electric like! What did you do to get this shot at night? I have yet to get clear, nighttime shots :)
Thank you, Jim Laura! By the way today we just aw one in the lakes near my home here in Belgium. Unluckily we had left our cameras at home. Borneo is an excellent place to see many kinds of them. BTW, Laura, long time no see! good to see you back in PN :-)
Marta, what a fantastic find! I used to see them around the little lake behind my flat in the UK, but usually just a flash of blue. This one was kind enough to pose!
Thanks Reza and the rest that like it ;-)
