Description:

8-9" long. This male is bright red with an orange beak and back face

Habitat:

Woodlands, thickets, brushy areas. Enjoys pine trees

Notes:

Seen year-round in much of the Eastern half of the United States. Put out a bird feeder and you'll probably have these birds visit before long.
