Field Notes

Description:

They have very cryptic coloring. The back is all shades of brown, the belly is cream and there is some streaking at the throat.

Habitat:

They are found in central North America in mixed and short grass prairie. This guy was just walking in front of our van, not even worried about the fact that we were right behind him.

Notes:

They are listed as threatened in the US, so it was an exciting lifer for me :)
