Field Notes

Description:

Black butterfly with 4 yellow stripes and a row of yellow spots on the upper side of the wings, and red spots on the underside of the wings. The wingspan is about 3.5 inches.

Habitat:

On garden flowering plants in western Boca Raton, FL. Preferred pink bougainvillea but also stopped near pink penta plants.
