Description:

This very young American Crocodile is resting in El Salado mangrove. It is younger than a year old. About 60 cm long.

Habitat:

El Salado mangrove is the only federally protected natural area within a city. Developers wanted to turn it in stores and business but the people of Puerto Vallarta defended the place and it is a protected area now. It is home to many birds, reptiles, etc.It is a triumph for the wildlife and the local people over powerful economic interests.

Notes:

This is my spotting No. 4,700

Such a lovely spot to occupy. (Both the croc and number 4700 ; Congrats...and many more to come) I really like the way it is " perched" on that branch.
