Golden-handed tamarin

Taken during my thesis research last summer in Suriname. They are named for their golden colored hands and feet. They live in groups of about 8-12, although group sizes can vary. Females give birth to twins at least once a year, if not more, and the males carry the young. They are very small primates, weighing around a pound. Natural predators include snakes, birds of prey and large cats.
