Description:
Extremely effective at killing off argentine and other types of ants that intrude people's food. often active only in Winter and Spring but this colony is active in Fall. Can grow acre sized colonies. Instead of being equiped with a stinger it secretes poison (harmless to us) that damages other very small animals on contact. A very passive species of ant, is non-aggressive toards Western Black Carpenter Ant(Camponotus modoc).
Notes:
In 1st image two Winter Ants are probing each other with their antenna to detect if they are of the same colony and they are from the same colony.
