Thanks, @Lauren. Yes, if I photoshop it to an undersea background, this would make a great Nudibranch too :)
Congratulations Albert! What a beauty! A terrestrial nudibranch!
Thank you, @Ashley for another SOTD. Thanks too, @triggsturner and @Polilla for your appreciation :)
Congrats Albert, this awesome caterpillar is our Spotting of the Day! Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/projectnoah/photos/a.10150595289465603.674700.10150120463815603/10157467784870603/?type=3&theater Twitter: https://twitter.com/projectnoah/status/776933765687934976
Just astonishing Albert, very cool find, great collours and shape, congrats and thanks for sharing these amazing creatures :-)
Thanks for this Albert! I'll wait to see whether whether Dominik replies further on the PhilippinesLepidoptera post.
Thanks, @InesVeloso :) @Daniele, I got the ID from bayucca through my post at PhilippinesLepidoptera : https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154591460342491&set=pcb.1090036877758083&type=3&theater which I also asked about the colour variation. I am not familiar with the plants I found them on, it could be a citrus plant.
Fantastic images Albert! We'd love to feature this, but it would be great to have some more information. Most of the images for caterpillars of Setora nitens available online are greenish/bluish in colour. The difference in colour here might reflect diet or a difference in developmental stage? Bayucca had commented on this in previous spottings: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/10422131
Thanks, @triggsturner and @Doren B for your kind words and appreciation :) I was very happy to come across this one as they sure are stunning!
Incredible submission. Great photos of a very interesting creature.
An incredible spotting Albert. Thanks for sharing this with us.
