Field Notes

Description:

Nice couple of gadwall ducks eating in the middle of one of the Zoete Water ponds, yesterday evening. The female is alike the A. platyrhynchos but the male is quite different, with a black bill and a grey cream color and dark tail. They are shy ducks, usually swimming away from the borders of the lakes.
I am sad to see these poor ducks among hunted species!

Zoete Waters, Belgium
