Field Notes

Description:

This is a large snail, 9-10cm from mouth to tail. Not much tail showing after the shell. The shelll is large and golden coloured, not as pointed or stripey as the other giant african land snails I have seen, more round and bulbous, and very golden. He was on a vertical wall so his body is splayed out flat wtih all the venation visible, eye stalks very stout and tall.

Habitat:

Seen on rural buildings, concrete in the boundaries of Katavi NP>
