Field Notes

Description:

A beautiful big green Katydid. Quitie grass green (colour here is distorted maybe slightly as it was daylight but she was deep in the grasses and I had to use the flash to get the camera to focus). Just green all over, with very slight lime to yelllow accents, around the thorax panels (for want of better word, sorry!) and the tiny spines long the legs as well. typical little hooked feet. Very long green antennae.

Habitat:

Seen in long grass undergrowth beneath acacia and palm woodland in Katavi National Park.

Notes:

I didn't notice them at first, but once I saw one, then I saw many. If you want to see the little creatures of all kinds.... go and stalk the grasses in Katavi, it was awesome.
