We have plenty of Saturnids I've found quite a few cocoons that I thought were silk moths. They were smaller and always hanging from branches. And not quite as fibrous looking as this one. I"m still hoping someone on this site will recognize it. Tom
Hi Tom, that is a big cocoon. I had cocoons about that size (and I think the style was similar) - https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1822489966 - Do you have Saturnids in the Tallahassee area? John B.
