Field Notes

Description:

This Debris-carrying Larva.is probably from the family Chrysopidae. It is similar to some of the specimens shown in https://bugguide.net/node/view/72302...

Habitat:

This larva was spotted in the rice mill backyard on unidentified foliage, growing in the leaf litter under a clump of Spiny Bamboo.

Notes:

The following Project Noah Spottings by Maria dB seem to bear some similarities to the larva in my photos:

Good morning from the Philippines, Sukanya. Thank you for your comment. I have also seen an insect with a fecal shield https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/456278781.... but an assassin bug with ant corpses on its back.....how macabre!
How interesting. I once saw insects with fecal shields and an assasin bug with ant corpses on its back. Never seen anything like this.
