Field Notes

Description:

This lovely lily shown like a bright beacon on a steep mountain meadow. The flower is about 3" across, brilliant orange with dark purple or brown spots, on a 2-4' tall stem.

Habitat:

While resources say they like openings in forests, these were on a high elevation meadow and some were in a rather marshy area where the meadow met the road.
