Field Notes

Description:

Tan, stocky-bodied snake with black bands down the body with an orange dorsal stripe that runs the length of the body. This is two different individuals, photos 1 and 2 are the same snake, and 3 and 4 are the same snake. Can you find the snake in the last photo?

Habitat:

Found while walking around a very humid, forested property near the Mississippi River. This is a friends property who loves snakes, and he takes friends out there constantly to look for snakes. The highlight tends to be these timber rattlesnakes as he has tons of them around, and loves everyone he sees!

Thanks guys! Love the 'pancake' look that these guys do often. I usually find them like that, photograph them like that, then leave and they are still like that. They assume they can't be seen!
Blimey...I think I found the snake in pic #4! Beautiful snakes. Thank you for sharing :)
