Description:

I have seen numerous Uloborid spiders like this, over recent years and despite a considerable amount of time spent in searching the internet, I have not arrived at an identification. There are many photos of Uloborids on one particular website and some of them look like the spider in my photos, but I feel that there is a problem with reliability. I can see spider photos (tagged with a spcies name) which look very much like mine, but (right next to them) there are other pictures which show completely different spiders, bearing no resemlance to mine and they are tagged with the same name. That does not exactly inspire confidence. So, for the moment, I can only be confident in calling my spider Unidentified Uloboridae.

Habitat:

This spider was spotted on a banana leaf in the rice mill backyard. Over recent years, I have see many Uloborids like this and most of them have been in the area surrounding the rice mill. So, they seem to have a strong presence in that small area. I can't recall having observed any Uloborids in any other part of the farm or surrounding land.

Notes:

The two pictures are just different crops of the same photo - the first to show the spider and the second to include its rather messy web.
