Description:

Coccinia grandis (L.) Voigt (Cucurbitaceae), the Ivy Gourd, also known as Baby Watermelon, Little Gourd, Gentleman's Toes, is a tropical vine. It grows aggressively and can smother and kill native vegetation, including mature trees. In Southeast Asia, Ivy Gourd is grown for its edible young shoots and edible fruits.

Habitat:

Backyard at Biñan, Laguna. Its native range extends from Africa to Asia, including India, the Philippines, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, eastern Papua New Guinea, and the Northern Territories, Australia.
