Congratulations Albert, your cave spider is our Spotting of the Day: "Look carefully: do you notice anything special about the legs of this cave spider (Heteropoda sp.), our Spotting of the Day? Three legs are thinner and different in appearance, because they have regenerated. A variety of animal taxa can shed and regenerate appendages such as legs and tails, including amphibians, reptiles, fish and arthropods. Spiders can regenerate lost legs through their molting process. Thanks to our resident spiderman Chun Xing Wong Claveria for his careful observation of the legs". Thanks @Chun for the confirmation of the genus ID and great observation on your part of the legs! :)
It's amazing in the first photograph you could see that the front 3 legs are new limbs which has been regrown.
Hi AlbertKang, beautiful huntsman spider. Definitely a Heteropoda sp., different species from Marek's spotting but the same genus.
Thanks, @Marek for the possible ID :)
@Albert, probably not the same species, but they may be related.
Yes, @Marek, they looks similar. However, I am not sure if they could be the same species.
I found similar one in cave in Thailand http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1591270041
