Description:

A rare bird for Texas in the winter, this Black Tern was found on the beach in Port Aransas today. The bird is in nonbreeding plumage with slate-colored upperparts, white belly, white head with black cap, lacks a deeply forked tail in flight and is smaller than accompanying Forster's Terns

Habitat:

Gulf Beach
